Ladders Quilt with Janet Goddard

This is a quick quilt to make and could be made from jelly roll strips, scraps or fat quarters.

I just loved these fabrics as soon as I saw them and knew that they needed to be showcased in a simple geometric design so this is how the quilt came about. As I stitched the quilt it reminded me of ladders. If only all ladders could be this colourful!

This is a great follow on workshop from our Colour and Cutting Workshop Introduction to colour and cutting Patchwork as students need to be able to use a rotary cutter and stitch an accurate ¼” seam.

The requirements listed below are sufficient to make a quilt approximately 42” x 54”.

  • 1 ¾ m white fabric
  • 1 ¼ m fabric in total for the ladders. (I have used a variety of smaller pieces of fabric here but you could use a jelly roll)
  • Neutral thread for piecing
