Introduction to Patchwork – Cathedral Window
We are really excited to be offering this new workshop with Janet Goddard, Janet loves to patchwork and her patterns are regularly featured in patchwork and quilting magazine, as well as a number of books. Janet is a qualified teacher, and her approachable and friendly style puts students at ease whatever their level.
Come along and learn the basics of patchwork and quilting and make a delightful patchwork Cathedral Window cushion to take home with you. Cathedral Window is a folded patchwork technique which looks highly intricate, however it is a simple technique with really effective results.
The first part of the process is completed on the machine while the second part is completed by hand. Janet has stitched her cushion by using bright fabrics in the ‘window’ however a cushion using other prints and designs including Christmas fabrics or Liberty prints would be equally effective
Students need to be confident using a rotary cutter and sewing 1/4″ seam.
